All events are to be considered "Full Gear Required" unless special instructions are issued.
THE 27TH NJ IS A LIVING HISTORY GROUP. We will fire muskets at certain events, but only when instructed and in a group. This will be under an Officer or NCO's supervision.
All events marked on the schedule as "NON FIRING" means just that. If there is a change at any event, the officer or ranking nco will make any needed adjustments.
Since each enlisted man was issued just one firearm, that is all you should bring to any event. There are special events when firearm displays are allowed, but please, lets keep the living history part of our group the way it should be. You are a soldier with one musket, an issued uniform, and a tent.
All military members should have the basic uniform parts (Shirt, pants, jacket, brogans, cap), and if you are an NCO proper rank marking on uniform. You are expected to have purchased a musket and leathers within one (1) year of joining the regiment.
All officers should have the proper uniform and equipment.
For Living History Events, a tent or throw down blanket roll is required. This will be your space.
Please show up a few minutes early for an event for setup before the public arrives. Remove all vehicles from the camp area after unloading. Plan to stay until the event is over or when the ranking officer or NCO decides it's time to break camp.
All of our events are considered "civilian friendly" which means that civilians are welcome at all of our events.
